Modestep
Yes suprisingly, Modestep was quite a big infleunce on me producing my own dubstep. Even though the band are cosnidered to be 'popstep' and 'mainstream crap', when i heard the original version of sunlight, i thought it was a great tune. At the start of the year when i first heard 'Feel Good', i thought it was awesome at the time and it really did inspire me to create my own dubstep and so my Youtube channel began (one reason being how young the band are). A edited version of Sunlight has been out for a while niow (personally, i prefer the original) so check it out if you already haven't.
Tek One
I first heard tek one when I firstly started to get in to dubstep and get a feel for the genre when i heard the massive Mos Sound of dubstep album. I think they a great with their music as they manage to get a nice and tight wobble going as well as punchy drums while keeping the sub bass heavy too. Really like their syle as they try to stick close to the roots of the genre. They got some real nice tracks such as their Break Me down remix and also their cut dem remix. Their wobbles are great and have gave me ispidartions for music.
Caspa
When it comes to a proper heavy bassline that really creates an impact without being over the top filthy, Caspa does it very well. He may not be recognised by the mainstream audience that have became interested in the genre but he certaintly stands out as a oringal dubstep artist. Being one of the first artist of dubstep i've ever heard, I grew to like caspa as soon as i became a fan of dubstep. Stand outs for me were 'love never dies' and espically his remix of tc's 'Where' my money'. Massive tune. His bass i really like and he has gave me influences and ideas that i have used in my songs.
FLux pavilion
When it comes to creating a massive dubstep synth masterpiece, no one quite does it as well as FLux pavilion using heavy and sometimes filthy basslines in with harmonic vocals ans synths. Flux made something new and different to dubstep taking it away from the gritty and dank basslines and replaces them with either a nasty wobble or a chilled out build up with a whole range of different pitched oscialtors. Representing circus records, flux p has definetly made a name for himself in dubstep building up a huge fan base and with the increasing range of artists such as cookie monsta, funtcase and trolley snatcha, he's goign to become even bigger
